Hundreds of burgers

June 10, 2018July 26, 2021 by Lanie Cheatham

Ok, this is not a baking post, but my family and friends volunteered to cook for the homeless at the Rescue Mission in SLC. We volunteered alongside my mother’s church group. We had a friend who went through the program who lived there for almost a year. He always thought that fresh beef burgers would be a hit, along with salad, and freshly baked cookies, so we got together, bought all the supplies, and cooked up a storm. Our friends without houses enjoyed the burgers so much, and many came back for seconds! I think we served around 120 people that night and cleaned up our mess afterward. It was fun to cook burgers, as I had never done that before, and to see people enjoying the food we made!
