With my growing concern about our world’s plastic waste problem, I had started using those beeswax wraps you can buy at organic stores. They’re pretty expensive, and I wanted to have more variety of shapes and sizes. With a giant bar of beeswax leftover from making canelé, I thought I could make my own. We went to the fabric store to get some cotton fabrics, and we washed them and cut them into shapes. Some were sewn into pouches. We coated them with grated beeswax (which is really hard to grate) and melted it in the oven. They took a while to make, but I got good use out of them. My favorite was the dog fabric because it looks just like my dog Cookie!
