This year for Thanksgiving I had the opportunity to make most of the desserts because my mom had surgery on her ankle, and was unable to be upright. We had some dinner guests coming over (3 Korean students from the University of Utah that my grandmother knew) so the pressure was on. I made the pie crusts for the pumpkin pie and pecan pie, and the fillings. I also made a cranberry orange cinnamon swirl bundt cake for my dad since he is not a big fan of pies. My mom was able to make the frosted cranberries for decoration. As you can see here, my dog Cookie was very interested in the pies but had to settle for some turkey scraps later. My personal favorite was the pecan pie (with tangy whipped cream, made with sour cream), even though I usually do not like pie.
