Jam thumbprints

July 28, 2019December 24, 2020 by Lanie Cheatham

My mom first made these cookies at Christmas time when I was little. They are a simple butter cookie recipe that you roll into balls and put your thumbprint into, and fill with jam. We use any jam we have in the fridge, like raspberry, strawberry, apricot, or blackberry. One time I came home from school and made these with my friends, but we accidentally used whole wheat flour instead of white flour. They tasted good, but not what we expected! This is a good recipe since you don’t need special ingredients to make them. They are also called jelly bowl cookies. The recipe makes a lot of dough so sometimes I just make half.
